Wisdom tooth extraction, where required, is best performed sooner rather than later.
Using x-rays, here at Starbright dental we determine which wisdom tooth needs to be removed. Sometimes, a patient may need all of the wisdom teeth extracted. The operation may be performed in the chair using local anesthetic or in an operating theatre under a general anesthetic, depending on the complexity of the problem you may need to be referred to an oral surgeon to have this done.
Your jaw and gum area is likely to be sore, swollen and prone to bleeding for a few days after the operation. One of the possible post-surgery complications is a dry socket where the site doesn’t heal as well as it should. This can be successfully treated by your dentist.
For any extraction here at Starbright Dental the care of our patients is our number one priority. We understand that this is a traumatic procedure to have done and this is why you can relax and know you are In good hands with our experienced Dentist. You will receive post-operative instructions to take home after your extraction which will be thoroughly explained to you, also one of our nurses will kindly give you a call the day after too see how things are going.
